It was a ride that he’ll never forget and a ride his parents would like to forget.

Goshen Police arrested an 8-year-old boy from New Paris who allegedly took his parents’ SUV without their permission in Goshen and went on a joyride Tuesday evening.

ABC 57 reports the boy was driving at a high rate of speed through downtown Goshen. Police tried to stop the boy, but he continued on. The pursuit was short, though he did drive through barricades at Main and Pike Streets in Goshen, according to police.

The 8-year-old boy was charged with resisting arrest in a vehicle and operating a vehicle without a license. He was eventually released to his parents.
