Two people are dead and two others are injured after a shooting on South Bend’s west side.

Officers with the South Bend Police Department were sent to the area of Huey and Fredrickson Streets around 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 2, after Shot Spotter detected gunfire in the area.

Once on scene, police officers discovered multiple victims. They have not been identified yet as of 11 a.m. Thursday.

The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit arrived on scene shortly before 12 a.m. to take over the investigation. Investigators spent several hours overnight interviewing people in the area.

Police arrested 40 year-old Robert Snyder Jr for possession of meth with intent to deliver, and 37 year-old Robert Brady Jr. on preliminary suspicion of Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

The stretch of Huey from Fredrickson to Johnson Street was closed overnight for the investigation.
