Two fatal crashes in two days in Fulton County

Two days, two crashes, two fatalities.

A Rochester man riding a moped died around 1 a.m. Friday on S.R. 17 near C.R. 200 North, according to Indiana State Police. 45-year-old Jackie Shuey II reportedly hit a tree that had fallen onto the road from a recent thunderstorm. Shuey II was ejected from the moped and died of his injuries.

The day before, at about 3 p.m., a Kewanna man was killed in a crash not too far from there. 37-year-old Robert Cooper went off of S.R. 17 near C.R. 400 north, hit a culvert, and rolled his vehicle. Cooper was ejected in the process and was pronounced dead at the scene.
