LaPorte County woman’s body found on side of Michigan City road

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. (AP) — Police in Michigan City say a bicyclist discovered the body of a 24-year-old woman in a ditch.

Michigan City police say the bicyclist spotted the body Wednesday morning on the city’s far east side.

Police say the bicyclist waved down a passing motorist who called 911.

The body has been identified as that of a 24-year-old woman from LaPorte County. Her name is being withheld pending the notification of family.

There was no immediate word on the cause of death. An autopsy has been scheduled.
