The chief of police in LaPorte will be stepping down soon.
Chief Adam Klimczak turned in a letter of resignation on Wednesday, after more the 20 years on the force.
The 43 year-old was appointed Chief by Mayor Blair Milo shortly before she became mayor in 2012. Klimczak says he felt with Mayor Milo’s departure the time was now right to “pull the trigger and go ahead and take the plunge” on a career change.
The Northwest Indiana Times reports he’ll stay on until the position is filled.
