The student population at New Paris Elementary School is growing, and to keep up, so is the school itself.

The Elkhart Truth reports that class sizes at the school have been increasing for five years, with each grade but 6th having three classes. Next year, the 6th grade would also require a third classroom…with no space available.

The Fairfield School Board approved a nearly $2 million bond to create a total of six new rooms on the north and south ends of the building.

Construction on the additions is expected to be finished by January of 2018, with the teacher’s lounge area to be finished next summer.
