The Tippecanoe Valley High School football coach is returning to work, but he won’t be leading the team.

The district suspended head coach Stephen Moriarty after he threw two water bottle crates in the locker room. One of the crates ricocheted off the wall and hit a player.

The school’s board of trustees met last week to talk about what to do about it.

On Monday, Oct. 9, the district released a statement that said Assistant Coach Jeff Shriver will assume all head coaching responsibilities for the remainder of the 2017 football season.

The statement said Moriarty will return, but as a member of the coaching staff.
