Teachers and administratiors are likely hoping for a normal day on Monday after an evacuation on Friday, Oct. 13, at Walt Disney Elementary School.

HAZMAT crews were called to the school on Day Road in Mishawaka early in the afternoon to check out an odor.

They believe it was caused by some sort of corrosive material they found in the boiler room, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

Some crew members exposed to the material suffered skin irritation but no students were injured, ABC 57 reported.

The school says the equipment will be examined over the weekend. Air quality tests will also be conducted.
