Charges filed against alleged drunk driver in fatal U.S. 20 crash near Rolling Prairie

Charges have been filed against a man in LaPorte County who allegedly caused a car crash that killed two people.

40-year-old Tron Gorbonosenko was hospitalized following the Friday, October 6th crash on U.S. 20 at Bootjack Road near New Prairie High School. His Ford Mustang drove head-on with a Honda Odyssey, killing Don and Angie Kaczmarek in the Honda.

Gorbonosenko was flown by MedFlight to Memorial Hospital for treatment. He was released last week.

Investigators claim he had a blood alcohol level of .17% at the time of the crash, over double Indiana’s legal limit. He’s charged with two operating while intoxicated causing death charges and two counts of reckless homicide. If convicted on all counts, he faces 36 years in prison.
