Kids Kingdom will reopen on Friday after a fire severely damaged it Halloween night.

The beloved South Bend park fell victim to a malicious incident of arson Halloween night. Thanks to an outpouring from the community and a crew from the city’s Venues Parks & Arts Department, the 25 year-old park within Potawatomi Park will be ready to go on Friday.

The Parks Department told ABC 57 that about 10-percent of the park was damaged in the fire, which was noticed around 6:30 p.m. Halloween night, but was “very salvagable.”

Officers are still investigating the cause of the fire and haven’t ruled out arson.
