A high-speed chase in Warsaw ended with a crash and the suspect recovering at a hospital.

It happened Saturday morning when Warsaw police tried to stop a speeding vehicle. The driver ended up leading police on a high-speed chase through various Warsaw streets before re-emerging on U.S. 30…driving westbound on the eastbound lanes.

The driver crossed the median into the correct lane…then later back into the incorrect lanes and continued west.

The vehicle then went off the roadway at the 350 West intersection, crashed and destroyed an information pavilion, then broke a utility pole in half when the car rammed it. The vehicle then spun and rolled, landing on the driver’s side and trapping the driver in the vehicle.

43-year-old Willliam Sebastian Gonzalez of Wasco, California was extricated. He was taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne for treatment.

Gonzalez was later charged with resisting Law Enforcement with use of vehicle, level 6 felony and reckless driving, B misdemeanor. William was also cited for speed and disregarding several traffic control signals.
