Michiana Applebees locations affected by recent credit breach

If you’ve eaten at Applebee’s recently, you might want to check your bank statements.

RMH Franchise Holdings, the owner and operator of more than 160 Applebee’s locations, announced it discovered malware on the point-of-sale system, according to ABC 57.

Hackers may have used the malware to access guests’ names, credit or debit card numbers, expiration dates and card verification codes.

The breach ranges from November 2017 to January 2018, and affects Applebees locations in Elkhart, Goshen, Granger, Plymouth, South Bend, and Warsaw. The breaches happened between Dec. 6 to Jan. 2 and impacted 21 Indiana stores in total, including four Fort Wayne locations.

Anyone who visited the affected stores should check their statements and immediately report any unauthorized charges.

For more information on the data breach, contact RMH at (888) 764-7357. For a full list of affected stores, visit rmhfranchise.com.
