SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Police officials say their investigation into a shooting that left six people wounded at a weekend party in South Bend has been hampered by uncooperative witnesses.

South Bend police say the shooting occurred early Sunday in a neighborhood on the city’s south side. Officers were dispatched after reports of multiple shots fired at the party where more than 40 people were gathered.

Investigators say the victims range in age from 17 to 35 and they all survived. Police Chief Scott Ruszkowski on Monday made public plea for anyone with information about the shooting to help investigators. He says: “The bottom line is, we need cooperation.”

Ruszkowski says he believes that more than one person fired shots. No arrests have been made and police say the shooting may be gang-related.

Don't try to protect people that won't cooperate with the police. March 14, 2018 at 6:55 am

Why should the police bother with this? Why try to protect idiots that don’t want to be protected? The shooter will soon be dead by the hand of another person that undoubtedly also committed crimes where people did not cooperate with the police. Eventually all these uncooperative people will be shot and then police will have less to do. Awesome!
