Police responded to a road rage incident that escalated into a shooting early Friday morning on the city’s Northwest side.

A woman was injured in the shooting, which happened outside of the Muessel Primary Center at the intersection of California and Cleveland Avenues, around 1:30 in the morning.

Two women say they were driving south on Portage Avenue when they noticed they were being followed by a Black Nissan Altima. That car was driven by someone they didn’t know and several shots were fired at their vehicle, with one bullet striking one of the women. She was listed in stable condition Friday morning.

During the investigation of the scene, gunshots were also reported near the intersection of Keller and Adams Streets. It’s not known if the cases are related.
