A South Bend man has been sentenced for the murder and attempted robbery of another man in 2016.

Sir Jacquarius JaQuan Lloyd, 24, killed Tyler Hurtle in October 2016 during a botched robbery attempt in Leeper Park.

On Friday, April 13, he was sentenced to a total of 87 years in prison, 60 for the murder, 12 for the attempted armed robbery, and an additional 15 years for the firearm sentencing enhancement.

In addition, Lloyd was on probation at the time, so a previous six-year sentenced was tacked on, meaning his consecutive sentences run 93 years.

Two other men, Presley Brown and Caleb Smith, are also charged and their cases are still working through the court system.
