Michiana veteran walks on Memorial Day to pay tribute to fallen friend

A local veteran spent his Memorial Day paying tribute to a friend and fellow vet, and raising money and awareness that will benefit homeless and troubled veterans.

Kyle Ingle’s friend took his own life on Memorial Day two years ago. Ingle set off on a trek in very hot and muggy weather Monday, with a pack on his back and a large American flag, hoping to raise awareness of the suicide problem among veterans.

The Memorial March was also a fundraiser, with a Go Fund Me page sitting at about a third of it’s $10,000 goal to benefit Kernan’s Heroes. That’s a local organization that offers services to homeless veterans.

You can still support the effort by donating to his GoFundMe.
