Michigan City woman hit and killed by hit-and-run semi-truck

Police in Michigan City are looking for a semi driver that hit and killed a pedestrian.

Michigan City police say a pedestrian was hit and killed shortly after 9:45 a.m. Tuesday in the King’s Inn Parking lot on Kieffer Road west of Franklin Street.

The woman was reportedly dead when police arrived. Witnesses told police she was hit by a red tanker semi-truck, and the driver is believed to be a white woman. The semi-truck headed southbound towards I-94. An autopsy will be performed on Wednesday.

Michigan City Police are looking for any information that might help them find this tanker truck. If you have information, please call police at 219-874-3221.
