Car shot at, crashed on 30th Street in South Bend

South Bend Police are investigating an apparent drive-by shooting.

Officers were called to the 600 block of S. 30th Street just before 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, on the initial report of a crash.

The driver told police he was being shot at and while trying to flee, he crashed on 30th.

The driver ran away from the vehicle and left his four year old daughter, who was in the back seat.

He returned to the crash scene as officers arrived.

Neighbors reported hearing multiple gunshots, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

Officers found another vehicle and a garage in the area were hit by bullets.

There were no injuries reported.

There is no description of a suspect or suspects.
