Warsaw man pleads guilty to stealing over $31k in unemployment fraud scheme

A Kosciusko County man has pleaded guilty to unemployment insurance fraud.

67-year-old Leroy Konkle of Warsaw has been sentenced to four years of probation.

He pleaded guilty after an Indiana Department of Workforce Development employee found he was working and receiving wages all while claiming unemployment insurance benefits.

Konkle has been ordered to repay $31,451 in benefits he fraudulently collected.

Since 2013, Indiana courts have ordered fraudsters to repay millions in restitution to the state’s Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund.
