There’s more to the story of the neighborhood where two dogs were found dead in a trash bag this week.

It turns out that nine dogs have been reported missing in the area, according to WNDU.

The city confirms that the animals have gone missing in the areas west and northwest of downtown, and five of those dogs have been pit bulls or a pit bull mix, WNDU reported.

South Bend Animal Care and Control is still investigating the cause of death of the two Boston Terriers found on Tuesday morning in that trash bag.

Read more about the missing dogs with the full story from WNDU.
