Facebook scam targeting local teenage boys

Police in Goshen are warning about a specific scam targeting teenage boys in our area.

Police say the teenagers are being blackmailed by strangers who are enticing them to share sexually explicit photos or video through social media.

Victims have come forward in both St. Joseph and Elkhart Counties, according to WSBT.

The goal is to extort money from the teenagers, authorities told WSBT.

People are reminded to instruct their teenagers to not accept friend requests from attractive strangers.

Also, a request from a friend of a friend or family member could still be a scammer if they have fallen victim to the same scam.

There are no “victims” here! Only really stupid people that get what they deserve for their depravity. What idiots! Why would any police department waste a minute of time on this?
