Deadly double-shooting in South Bend ruled murder-suicide

The deadly double shooting that took place in South Bend on Saturday, Nov. 3, has been ruled a murder-suicide.

76-year-old Edward Zelasko, 76, shot his ex-wife, Helen Higginbotham, 71, then shot his dog and then himself at a home in the 2500 block of West Prairie Avenue.

He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but died on Sunday night.
