A 24-year-old woman was killed in a crash on U.S. 12 near the U.S. 31 Bypass.

The collision happened around 11:40 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, at the end of the off-ramp to southbound U.S. 31.

A pickup truck driven by a 39-year-old South Bend man was headed westbound on U.S. 12 struck a vehicle that had just come off the southbound bypass.

The pick up truck hit the driver’s door of the victim’s vehicle.

The victim was identified as An-na Kim, 24.

Kim is a graduate of Andrews University in Berrien Springs and is originally from Korea.

She was serving an internship with the Grand Rapids Symphony.

Deputies were able to make notification to the victim’s father and sister in Korea with the assistance of the Andrews University Police Department and a Korean interpreter.

Berrien County crash investigators believe that Kim may have pulled out into the path of the pickup truck.

The crash is still under investigation and drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this crash.
