Man walks into South Bend hospital after shooting

Police in South Bend are investigating a shooting Tuesday night that injured a man.

Investigators say the man walked into Memorial Hospital in South Bend around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2, with a gunshot wound to his hand. The victim told police he’d been in a fight with the suspect, who pulled out a gun that went off.

The shooting happened on Hanley Avenue shortly before midnight.

The suspect was still at-large on Wednesday morning. The victim was treated and released.
