29-year-old man shot at Chapin and Dubail in South Bend

A 29-year-old man was shot on Sunday, Jan. 13, while we was walking in the area of Chapin and Dubail in South Bend.

That’s what the victim told South Bend Police, who were called to the area around 5:10 a.m.

There was no immediate word of any suspects or arrests. The victim is expected to be okay.

South Bend Police are also investigating a shooting that happened just after 12 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12.

South Bend Police released the following information about Sunday’s shooting:

The South Bend Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 1700 block of S. Chapin around 5:10 Sunday morning. 

Officers responded to the area on reports of shots fired. When they arrived, they found a 29 year old male with an apparent non life threatening injury to the upper leg. He was transported to the hospital for treatment. 

It was reported the victim was walking when he heard gun shots and then felt pain. 

This case remains under investigation by the South Bend Police Investigative Bureau.
