A fire at an apartment complex Thursday morning in Bristol caused the residents of at least 16 apartments to evacuate into the cold.

The fire at Golfview Manor Apartments on Vistula Street was reported early in the morning and put out quickly in the extreme cold. Firefighters say no one was injured at the scene and many of the residents went to their own vehicles to stay warm.

Temperatures at the time were around -20° with wind chills near -40°.

There’s no word on the cause of the fire.
