Fulton County residents question proposed data center rules

Fulton County residents are pushing for tougher restrictions on future data center developments.
During a recent Area Plan Commission meeting, residents raised concerns about noise, land use and the impact on farmland.
Proposed regulations would require large data centers to be at least 15-hundred feet from schools, churches, hospitals and nursing homes.
Some residents want that distance increased.
Others believe the county should measure proposed facilities by square footage instead of electrical demand.
The commission is gathering public feedback before moving forward with the proposed regulations.
