Power lines briefly shut down part of South Main in South Bend

Map by ABC 57

11:30 Update: South Main is now reopened.

———-

South Bend Police say a semi knocked down power lines along South Main Street Thursday morning, shortly after 10 a.m.

This caused a shut down of South Main Street between Donmoyer and Chippewa. Sherwood was also closed at South Michigan, but Michigan St. remains open for north-south traffic.

A handful of power outages were reported in that area of South Main and Chippewa. Indiana Michigan Power anticipated service would be restored by about 2:30 p.m.
