The work being done to fight opioid abuse in St. Joseph County is getting international coverage.

Addiction experts, including a St. Joseph County judge, have shared some of their findings with the academic journal, Taylor & Francis Online.

The article, titled “A Perspective From The Field: Five Interventions to Combat the Opioid Epidemic and Ending the Dichotomy of Harm-reduction versus Abstinence-Based Programs” dives into the innovative interventions being used in our area.

IUSB social work professor John Gallagher tells WSBT-TV it’s a chance to share what local officials have learned with the rest of the world.
