Search ends for man suspected in South Bend hit-and-run crash that injured 5 people

UPDATE: Anthony Motley turned himself into authorities around 1 a.m. on Friday, March 8, according to South Bend Police.


ORIGINAL STORY: Police are asking for help from the public in locating a man who prosecutors  say was behind the wheel of a vehicle involved in a hit and run collision which injured five people.

The crash happened early Sunday morning, March 3, at South and Michigan Streets in South Bend.

Anthony Motley, 37, is charged with four counts of leaving the scene of an accident with serious bodily injury, a level 6 felony.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

One of the victims in the vehicle that was struck was 8 months pregnant and had to undergo an emergency C-section, according to police, as reported by 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

Anybody with information about Motley’s whereabouts is asked to contact the South Bend Police Department at 235-9201 or Michiana Crime Stoppers at 288-STOP.
