This week is Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Indiana, and with it comes tests of the Emergency Alert System.

The National Weather Service will conduct a test that includes a 15-minute live tornado warning alert on Tuesday, March 19, at 10:15 a.m.

The test is done to make sure the system is working properly in the event of an actual tornado.

In the event of severe or inclement weather, the test will be rescheduled and held on the morning of Wednesday, March 20.
