Employee at Juvenile Justice Center suspected of embezzlement

A probation employee with the Juvenile Justice Center is being investigated for embezzlement.

A South Bend Police Department spokesperson confirms that the department is looking into an alleged embezzlement case against the employee, who’s name has not been disclosed.

An internal investigation was conducted before the case was passed to the South Bend Police, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

The alleged crime reportedly happened throughout December and the employee is accused of stealing less than $100, ABC 57 reported.

No arrest has been made. No charges have been filed and the investigation is still underway.
