SWAT situations end with two arrests

There was SWAT activity in South Bend south of the downtown area, on Tuesday, March 26, as an ATF investigation resulted in two arrests.
There were two raids, the first happeining in the 200 block of Tutt Street involving South Bend SWAT.
The second was near Beech and Ireland in St. Joseph County and involved Metro SWAT.
Both properties are owned by the same person, Lonnie Painter, 57,  according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.
Painter was taken into custody on a federal charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Painter was convicted of attempted murder in 1993 in La Porte County and was sentenced to 30 years in prison. He was also sentenced to 20 years in prison in Tennessee for 2nd degree muder. An un-named woman with Painter was also taken into custody.
ABC 57 reported.
Authorities said could be related to the skeletal remains found in Osceola last week, ABC 57 reported.
