Two IUSB students and a baby are recovering from non-life-threatening injuries they received in two separate shootings in South Bend.

The first shooting happened around 2:45 a.m. on Sunday, March 31, in the 100 block of Notre Dame Ave.

One of the victims suffered a graze wound. The second victim had a wound to the neck. He is in stable condition.

The victims are baseball players at IUSB, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

Witnesses say some uninvited guests showed up to a party at the house, were kicked out, then came back and shot at the house because they were upset, ABC 57 reported.

The other incident happened around 4 a.m. when police were called to the hospital for an 11-month-old boy who had suffered a non-life-threatening wound to shoulder from a shooting which happened in the 300 block of N. O’Brien where the shots were fired.

Anybody with information about either incident is asked to contact South Bend Police at 235-9201 or Michiana Crime Stoppers at 288-STOP.
