Dean of School of Fine Arts at IUSB stepping down next year

The Dean of the Raclin School of Fine Arts at IUSB will be stepping down next year.

Marvin Curtis will wrap up his 12th year as dean of the school on June 30, 2020.

The IUSB Preface says Curtis has had a number of accomplishments during his time at the school, including the new performance hall in Northside Hall that was completed in 2014.

Curtis has raised more than 5 million dollars in corporate funding and grants to improve the school during his years as Dean. He plans to continue conducting the South Bend Symphonic Choir that has been part of the music program for 51 years.

The search for the next Dean could begin this summer with the forming of a committee.
