A 21-year-old Elkhart man was found dead after an apparent shooting in South Bend.

It happened around 6:45 p.m. on Monday, April 8, when South Bend Police received a Shot Spotter alert from a home in the 300 block of North O’Brien Street.

On arrival, they found Keyontae Lamarr Jones suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit was called to handle the investigation.

No arrests have been made nor charges filed in connection with the investigation.

An autopsy for Jones is scheduled for Wednesday, April 10, in Fort
Wayne.

The home is the same where an 11-month-old child was shot in the shoulder back in March.

At this early stage of the investigation, investigators cannot confirm that
the two incidents are related.

Metro Homicide is exploring all investigative leads.

Anybody with information is asked to call Metro Homicide at 235-5009 or Michiana Crime Stoppers at 288-STOP.
