South Bend Police looking for suspect who robbed wheelchair bound man

Police are searching for a man who accused of robbing a 63-year-old man who is paralyzed and in a wheelchair.

The South Bend Police Department say they responded to the call around 10 p.m. on Monday, May 13, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

The victim, who is paralyzed from the waist down, said he was in his home on Scenic Drive in South Bend when someone knocked on his door, claiming to be delivering food to him, ABC 57 reported.

The suspect pointed a gun at him when he answered the door and robbed him of the jewelry he was wearing, as well as several other items in a fanny pack.

The suspect is described as a white male in a black hoodie, with black pants and black shoes.
