An alleged threat at Lakeshore Middle School has been determined to be unfounded.

The principal sent a letter to parents regarding an allegation made, Monday, about a student who supposedly made a comment about shooting up the school, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

The letter stated that administrators began investigating the matter and talked with several students considered to be involved. However, school leaders were able to conclude that no such comments were made by the student who was alleged to say it and there was no threat to safety at any point during the day.

The principal also stated in the letter that they appreciate the students who brought the allegations to their attention so that immediate action could be taken to address what turned out to be a rumor.
