85-year-old woman killed in crash at Jefferson & 26th Street identified

An 85-year-old woman was killed in a two-car crash in South Bend.

The collision happened around 2:45, Thursday afternoon, at Jefferson and 26th Street.

Investigators say a 90-year-old man and his wife were traveling on Jefferson and turning left on to 26th Street when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a 57-year-old woman. The man’s wife, Patricia Sandilands, died,

The elderly man was taken to Memorial Hospital and is said to be in the intensive care unit.

The woman driving the other car was not hurt.
