Marshall County sewers will be reviewed for improvements

The Marshall County Council is expected to take steps soon to repair the county’s failing sewer system.

The issues came to light after a report in April that showed inadequate systems.

ABC 57 reports the council is expected to vote soon to take the first steps in addressing the problem. Many older homes have failing septic systems with no room to install a new one when they fail.

The council hopes to conduct a study about the area to preemptively attack the problem. The Marshall County Health Department will fund the $45,000 study from their budget, and the process is expected to take 4 to 6 months.
