GOP nominee for mayor: “Buttigieg should step down”

Republican nominee for Mayor of South Bend Sean Haas is calling for Pete Buttigieg to resign.

The challenger said in a statement Monday morning that the South Bend mayor’s presidential campaign has “taken priority over his duties here at home with absenteeism that has been well documented.”

Haas says while it is Mayor Pete’s prerogative to run for president, now is not the time for South Bend to be led by what he calls “a part time executive.” He calls for Buttigieg to resign as mayor, and for “a swift caucus to determine his replacement” so the city can move forward before the election.
