Man shot on Woods Edge Dr. in Niles Township

A Niles area man is recovering after being shot in the buttocks and legs.

Berrien County Police and Michigan State Police were called around 12:25 a.m. on Sunday, July 28, to the 900 block of Woods Edge Dr. in Niles Township on a report of several gunshots and an individual, who was possibly injured.

When the deputies and troopers arrived on scene, they found the 32-year-old victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The initial investigation reveals that the man was standing outside of a vehicle in an apartment complex parking lot, when he was approached by unknown individuals in another vehicle and was shot.

He was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend where he underwent surgery. He was last listed in stable condition.
