Michigan farm relief funds made available

The Michigan State Treasury is offering relief to farmers when applying for loans.

Farmers in the Great Lakes State have been hard by the winter, spring and summer weather patterns this year, as has been the case in other Midwest States. Now, Michigan’s Treasury Department has begun implementing a $15 million Agriculture Loan Origination Program.

The funds have been approved by the state legislature and Governor Gretchen Whitmer, and will enable financial institutions to make low-interest loans to farmers, growers, processors, and farm-related retailers.
