Barbara Brewster sentenced to 60 years for 1988 murder

Friday morning, 56 year-old Barbara Brewster was given a 60-year sentence in the 1988 beating death of Miriam Rice.

Rice, who was pregnant at the time, was murdered in South Bend.

Seventy-seven year-old George Kearney, who was a second suspect in the case, pleaded guilty to the murder. He died of a terminal illness earlier this year before a sentence could be passed for his involvement.
