Vote on whether to allow Mishawaka Menards to move location delayed

It’s going to be a bit longer before we know if or when the Mishawaka Menards will move from its current location.

The Common Council has decided delay any vote on rezoning the newly proposed location at Gumwood and Cleveland, as protestors made their frustration known ahead of the scheduled meeting on Monday, Aug. 5.

Officials with the company looking to develop the property said they need more time to gather the information needed to answer questions and concerns from the public, and the issue will be addressed at a meeting on Sep. 3.

Last week, the Mishawaka Area Plan Commission voted to allow the project to move forward, which even without a vote from the council should be enough to get the project going.
