INDOT closing two lanes of I-94 Sunday for bridge joint installation over US 20

LAKE and PORTER COUNTIES – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces that the right two lanes of eastbound I-94 will close starting late Sunday evening for installation of a new bridge joint.

The bridge is located over U.S. 20 just east of the Indiana Toll Road and the Lake/Porter county line.

Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in the left lane and shoulder, but motorists should expect backups and delays, planning an alternate route if possible.

Work is anticipated to be complete in approximately one week.

Drivers in Northwest Indiana can monitor road closures, road conditions, and traffic alerts at any time via the District’s social media channels: www.Facebook.com/INDOTNorthwest or Twitter @INDOTNorthwest. Or visit http://www.trafficwise.in.gov for INDOT’s TrafficWise Traveler Information Service.
