In Elkhart County, the rate jumped up to 3.6%, from 3% the month before. That rate is nearly a full point higher compared to a year ago.

Statewide, the July Employment Report for Indiana showed the jobless rate dropped to 3.4%, which is lower than the national rate of 3.7%.
