Police pursuit in Elkhart County leads to arrest for drug and stolen vehicle charges

A police pursuit in Elkhart County Thursday morning led to two people being arrested on drug and stolen vehicle charges.

A State Police Trooper witnessed a luxury car commit a moving violation around 3 a.m. as it entered the service plaza near mile marker 90. A chase ensued and the trooper witnessed what appeared to be drugs being thrown from the car.

The car exited at the Mishawaka Avenue exit and came to a safe stop. The passenger gave a false name at first but was identified as 44 year-old Margaret Sells. The driver was 44 year-old Robert Binder of Michigan City.

Meth was hidden in a baby seat, and pills were found as well as a counterfeit $20 bill.
