Security Changes at Notre Dame Ahead of Home Opener

Some changes will be coming to Notre Dame game time security, just in time for the home opener against New Mexico this weekend.

That includes metal detectors at all entrances into the stadium. Officials with the University say it should be a quick process. You should already know to have a clear plastic bag for the game. When you step up to security you will simply need to hand it over to personnel and walk through, and they will check it at the same time.

A university spokesperson says it’s very rare these days to go to a large event like a football game without walking through a metal detour, and adds this is just another layer of protection.

WNDU reports that metal detectors will be used for all major sporting events at the school from now on.
