Officials at the South Bend International Airport are asking travelers to pardon their dust as two major construction projects are underway.

Phase one of the parking lot expansion project is expected to wrap up just before the busy Thanksgiving travel season.

It will provide 249 new parking spaces in the long-term lot, reroute Progress Drive, and create a new roundabout north of the La Quinta Inn.

Phase two will do extensive work on the rental lot and is scheduled to begin in the spring.

Inside the terminal new flooring is being installed from the atrium to just east of the Delta ticket counter, thanks to a county tourism grant.
